What technical care means after handover
After handover, the website or workflow runs, but updates, an expired certificate or a changed interface make themselves felt sooner or later, usually at an inconvenient moment. Then someone who knows the system needs to be reachable. With ongoing care, it is agreed who looks after things, what is checked regularly and within what time we respond.
Updates and maintenance
We install updates, check certificates, forms and interfaces and keep the application technically up to date, at the intervals we agree. You tell us about changes in your business that affect the system.
Backup and recovery
Backups and the way back to a working state are set up and rehearsed from time to time, to suit the system and the hosting. You decide how long data is kept.
Monthly care with response times
Included services, response times and availability are set out in a separate agreement, so that you know what to expect. Extensions and external running costs are agreed separately.
Example scenario (fictional)
Operation and technical care in practice
An accountancy firm has a website with a client portal for exchanging documents and does not want to deal with the technology itself. As part of ongoing care, updates are installed, the portal is checked regularly and backups are verified; if a form stops working, it is dealt with within the agreed response time. Once a month, the firm receives a short overview of what was done and what is coming up.
How you can tell it fits
- A good fit if nobody in your business has the time or inclination to keep an eye on updates and technology.
- A good fit if an outage of your website or a workflow would directly cost you jobs.
- A good fit if you use an application built by us or by someone else in your daily work and it needs maintaining.
What is included and what is not
Hosting, domain, licences and usage-based costs of external providers are not included in ongoing care and are listed separately. New features are extensions, which we agree together before implementation.
Starting point
This is the ongoing care after launch.
We agree ongoing care separately once your website and workflows have been signed off.
Operation and improvement
Guide priceCHF 490 per month
Operation and improvement as separately agreed care, guide price CHF 490 per month with up to two hours for defined checks, analysis and adjustments. Together we agree what the care should achieve and exactly what it covers.
Two questions before you start
Do you also take on applications you did not build?
That may be possible after reviewing the system. We look at the code, hosting and dependencies and tell you whether, and on what terms, we can take on the care.
What if we hardly need the care in a given month?
The agreed checks run every month, even if nothing comes up. How we handle unused adjustment time is set out in the care agreement, so that there are no surprises.
The first conversation costs nothing.
